BERNADETTE SMITH

Bernadette has been a director at Aspen Corp since 2003. She began her career as a training accountant in 1990 before trying her hand in the commercial sector. Bernie joining Aspen Corporate in 1995 as an Intermediate Accountant and completed her Bachelor of Business in Accounting at Edith Cowan University whilst working full time at Aspen Corporate.
Bernie became an accredited Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) in 1999. She is primarily involved in providing, accounting, taxation and business services to SME's and works across a range of industries including hotels, café/restaurant's, equipment hire, real estate, finance broking, transport services, property and building services, child care and retail.
Bernie has been elected to the CPA WA Divisional Council for 2022-25, is the current Chair of the CPA WA Public Practice Committee and is a member of Women on Boards (WOB). She also sits on a number Not For Profit Boards in various roles.
In 2022, Bernie was a Director of the Year finalist in the AMP Women in Finance awards.
In her spare time she likes to spend time with her three children, assist Not For Profit's, swim and read.
